We honor Ralph’s passion for bringing life back to urban communities by being active participants in the positive transformation of our region. The Foundation will consider funding for community development initiatives that focus on strengthening our distinctive urban neighborhoods, building our talented workforce, and encouraging entrepreneurship and innovation.
We’re in a world where talent and businesses strongly consider quality of place when making decisions of where to locate. The Foundation will support efforts to enhance quality of life in urban neighborhoods and encourage the preservation of our irreplaceable historic architecture. We have begun our work through initial funding to the Center for Great Neighborhoods, Cincinnati Central Riverfront Park, Fountain Square, and the Cincinnati Development Fund.
To grow, our region also must increase its skilled workforce both by attracting new talent and by providing traditional and non-traditional ways for our own local residents to participate in this knowledge-based economy. The Foundation will support efforts to develop, retain, and attract a talented regional workforce, and we are proud that our investments in this area already include such organizations as Vision 2015, Greater Cincinnati Workforce Network, Easter Seals WRC, Cincinnati Works, Artworks, and Soapbox Media.
Lastly, we know that another key factor driving new economic growth is the generation of new ideas and the ability to turn those ideas into reality. The Foundation will support efforts that strengthen our region’s culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The Cincinnati USA Regional Partnership, CincyTechUSA, Cincinnati USA Minority Business Accelerator, Cincinnati Innovates, and OTR BusinessFirst are some examples of our current investments.
